Carding - Using traditional methods,
this process takes the raw fibre, opens out
the individual strands, and then lays them
parallel to form a continuous sliver. Knitting - The sliver is fed into the
knitting machine through a mini carding head,
where it is then picked up by a revolving
cylinder of needles, which in turn is producing
a yarn backing into which the fibres are locked. Finishing - After being knitted the
fabric is then cropped or sheared
to the desired height, leaving a smooth and
even surface. After this the latex backing
is applied in liquid form, and the fabric
passed through an oven at high temperature
in order to cure and stabilise the fabric
to the correct width. The fabric is then ready
to be inspected, measured and rolled, or if
required, an additional shear and polish. Contact us to discuss your requirements. Learn more about Peter
